The Model Breakdown
Once you've nailed down the Hull Profile that fits your local rivers and specific fishing program, the next step is to determine which model brings your dream boat to life.
We have been busy over the past few years developing new offerings and configurations (and fishing) and before we knew it we've developed some new boat models and configurations without a formal introduction and overview. We've also learned that our current models cause some confusion amongst owners, guides, and damn near everyone so we've developed a clearer strategy to hopefully make the boats as unique as their name.

The Outfitter Model
F.K.A. The Guide: The Workhorse
The Outfitter model is the versatile workhorse of our fleet, engineered for those who demand a high-performance boat that is both lightweight and incredibly low-maintenance. While it retains the iconic Boulder Boat Works aesthetic with a wooden bow stem, gunnels, and transom plates, the internal heart of this boat is a modern, modular system designed to be "outfitted" to your specific daily needs.
Construction & Materials
The defining characteristic of the Outfitter is its lightweight aluminum pipe internal frame system. By replacing most traditional wooden structural ribs with high-grade aluminum, we achieve:
- Lighter Overall Weight: Making the boat easier to row, easier to trail, and more responsive on the water.
- Minimal Maintenance: Designed for the high-use owner, this model significantly reduces the "downstream" upkeep typically associated with wooden structural components.
- Superior Durability: The marriage of our marine polymer hull with a rugged aluminum frame creates a nearly bulletproof platform for high-volume guiding or heavy private use.
The Modular Configuration
One major advantage of the Outfitter model is the adaptability of the configuration and setup making it easy to swap a bench for a cooler, adjust the frame in minutes all at our lowest price point:
- Front Angler: The ability to swap your bench and drop in cooler or a dry box in minutes.
- Oarsman Station: Outfit the boat with one of our 70/30 dry box benches or swap your dry box from your raft into your Boulder.
- Rear Angler: A versatile station equipped with a rear cooler, dedicated dry box or remove the seat altogether for added storage space with a steelhead fishing program.
Why Choose the Outfitter?
This low-maintenance, adaptive design provides the unparalleled polymer hull performance you expect from Boulder Boat Works—a quiet, strong, and supple ride—in a versatile platform built to adapt to any client or fishing style at our lowest price point.
